Here are a couple of phone cam photos I took in the South District over the weekend. These look west to Massanutten Mountain, and along with beautiful early fall weather and temperatures, we had a clear day.
These were taken from one of the overlooks, in this case, one that had a sign referencing the Spotswood expedition that crossed the mountain in the early 1700's, becoming the first Europeans to move into the Valley. The view first includes the southern end of Massanutten Mountain, where the ski resort is, and this one is a look to the northwest, including Three-top Mountain and in the distance New Market gap.
