It's mom's birthday today - Happy Birthday Mom!Also, a quick post on the construction progress near my Clarendon office. The masonry continues to rise across the intersection, and they are on the one slab a week pace on the mid-block building. Speaking of which, I went up to the 9th floor lobby for this photo - if you look closely over the roof of the building visible just below where the crane cable is hanging, you will see the Washington Monument peaking out over the top!
Hard to believe, but from my office in Ballston a few years ago I could see the Capitol building, now all of this new construction blocks that view.
