Nature Fest

As I mentioned last post, I am on vacation at the Cabin. The other day, we saw this praying mantis clinging to the window in the hallway (it was out, we were it). That's as close to one as I've ever been - these guys are pretty fearsome. I'd hate to be the bug this guy was stalking!

I've heard they're good luck....I could use it.

You deserve good luck and a vacation! Enjoy it and it was good to see you- I have to tell you the whole snake thing really kinda makes me queasy.

Wow! And I thought the cockroaches were big in Texas...

So you think the Mantis is pretty fearsome, huh? Ever seen a Dobsonfly? (The adult version of a Helgramite)

This is a VERY popular bait on the River. (Helgramites, that is) The adults seem to love hanging out on our Log home in late Summer and to be quite honest, they give me the CREEPS!

Cheers,

Howard

I think I have some of those around, Howard. I'm checking the dead bugs on the brick terrace - the ones the toads didn't get!
