Spring Flowers - Alexandria 2010

Haven't really done a spring flowers post yet this year, but I noticed the back yard has really taken off this year and wanted to make a post.  Especially out by this big shrub that has white flowers - I don't know the name of it, but it always puts on a great show.

Also in the photo are my favorites, the hardy geraniums.  We planted a bunch of them over at the townhouse on Linden Street when we are there, and they are still going strong.  This is the first year they've put on such a strong showing for us here - Mary moved them to the back yard this year, since they didn't seem to be doing as well in the full sun out front.

For the oddball report, we also have this apricot tree in the backyard.  It's kind of funny to find this tree here, but we think it was left from the previous owners, who were Californians.  Most years it doesn't do so well, but this year it has already set fruit.  The squirrels are constantly in there working it over, and we'll see blue jays and others in there as well.
