A coworker and I toured Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City last December (post here), and they are active on Twitter - we actually arranged our tour through that app while we were flying in from DC. A tweet last night about their Smokestack Series caught my eye...I responded, and we had a good dialog, which follows.
“@Boulevard_Beer: Our brewers will use just shy of 750lbs of hops as they brew 600 bbls of The Calling..." Math: that's 1.2 pounds per bbl!

“@Boulevard_Beer: re: hops - my Hawksbill Hop Yards farm in Luray will only produce 600 pounds a year - enough for one of your batches!"

“@Boulevard_Beer Correct...doesn't account for dry hopping which is around 1,300 pounds for that volume.” PS I <3 your beers.
